JOB TITLE – DRIVERS (2)
Salary Scale (UWRSA Level 5)
Responsible to: Manager Human Resource and Administration
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To drive Authority staff, guests and/or any other assigned passengers and ensure general
maintenance of motor vehicles of the Authority.

KEY FUNCTIONS
1. Drive staff and other authorised passengers as and when instructed.
2. Delivering messages, documents and letters as assigned.
3. Liaises with Transport Officers on fuel allocation.
4. Noting vehicle mileage to track departure and return schedules.
5. Providing support to other Authority drivers on call.
6. Performing defensive driving techniques, passenger protection and customer care at
all times.
7. Ensure proper security of the official vehicles.
8. Notifying the Transport Officer to renew vehicle renewables and insurances.
9. Ensure vehicle service is on schedule.
10. Maintaining a functional log book, fuel and maintenance logs.
11. Ensuring the vehicle is clean at all times.
12. Reporting replacement of worn down vehicle parts.
13. Checking the vehicle routinely and compiling service reports.
14. Ensure the safety of the vehicle and adhere to all traffic, safety and other relevant
laws and regulations
PERSONS QUALIFICATION
1. O. level certificate with a pass in English
2. A valid and clean driving permit.
3. Time conscious and self-motivated
EXPERIENCE
1. Driving experience of at least 5 continuous years as a Driver in a busy and reputable
organization and accident free driving record.
2. Defensive driving skills, time management skills, excellent communication skills and
good interpersonal skills are an added advantage.
COMPETENCIES
Basic knowledge in vehicle mechanics and basic vehicle maintenance
TECHNICAL
1. Defensive driving skills
2. Understanding of Government Policy on vehicle usage
BEHAVIOURAL
1. Good interpersonal skills
2. Good time management
3. Good spoken and written skills
4. Take charge of the vehicle(s) under his care.
