ADD International seeks passionate, experienced Facilitators to help deliver high-impact training sessions. This is a remote-friendly, flexible position, open to applicants worldwide.
Position Overview: GDLA Facilitator
- Role: Global Disability Leadership Academy Facilitator
- Contract Type: Ad hoc consultancy
- Location: Global (remote and/or in-person facilitation)
- Duration: Approx. 9–12 hours per assignment
- Compensation: USD 50 per hour

ADD International is a global disability rights organization dedicated to supporting disability justice activists, particularly across Africa and Asia. The Global Disability Leadership Academy (GDLA)
Young people with disabilities—especially young women—often face systemic discrimination that limits their access to leadership development, education, and organizational influence. The Global Disability Leadership Academy (GDLA) is a strategic initiative under ADD’s 2024–2034 framework. Its aim is to equip emerging leaders with the tools, skills, and confidence to lead disability justice movements at both local and global levels.GDLA offers:

Key Responsibilities
Facilitators will be engaged on a sessional basis to deliver pre-designed modules virtually or in person. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering assigned curriculum content with creativity and sensitivity
- Using participatory methods (role-play, group discussions, simulation, storytelling, case studies)
- Fostering a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for Fellows
- Sharing relevant learning materials (articles, videos, tools)
- Submitting session reports to the Disability Rights Leadership Manager
- Attending a one-hour safeguarding orientation session
- Participating in occasional in-person events (when invited)
- Signing and adhering to ADD International’s Safeguarding Code of Conduct
Areas of Expertise Sought
Facilitators with experience in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply:
- Self-awareness and emotional intelligence
- Ethical and effective leadership
- Disability rights and intersectionality
- Organizational governance and resource mobilization
- Gender equality and social inclusion
- Accessible communication and advocacy
- International disability rights frameworks (e.g., CRPD)
- Combating ableism and promoting inclusive systems
- Safeguarding and trauma-informed facilitation
Required Skills and Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Lived experience of disability (priority will be given to disabled candidates)
- Experience facilitating training sessions, especially in inclusive or diverse settings
- Strong understanding of disability inclusion and justice frameworks
- Effective communication and empathetic listening skills
- Proficiency in virtual platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- Willingness to adapt methods for accessibility and diverse learning needs
- Ability to create safe, participatory learning spaces
