Climate change is no longer a distant threat for small island states—it is a daily public health challenge. In the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), rising temperatures, extreme weather, and disease outbreaks such as dengue are placing growing pressure on already stretched health systems. Strengthening resilience is no longer optional; it is essential.
To respond to these challenges, the World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking a remote consultant to support the closing phase of a Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness Project focused on enhancing the resilience of health systems to climate change and emerging pandemics in RMI.
About the Assignment
Under the supervision of the Pacific Climate Change and Environment (PCE) Team Coordinator, the consultant will provide hands-on programme management support to ensure the successful delivery and closure of the GCF Readiness Project.
The assignment will support national efforts to improve coordination, strengthen institutional capacity, document lessons learned, and ensure high-quality reporting—helping translate climate and health planning into lasting impact for RMI’s population of around 58,000 people.
