About IICPSD

IICPSD serves as a global center of excellence focusing on the role of the private sector in achieving sustainable development. It supports applied research, policy advisory services, and innovations in impact investing and financing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A major focus area is the Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform (GIFIIP), launched in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). This platform helps position Islamic finance as a powerful enabler of SDG implementation, bringing together public and private stakeholders to drive market-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will contribute to IICPSD’s impact investing and SDG financing work through:

Research & Analysis

  • Conduct research on impact investing, SDG finance, and innovative financing models.
  • Draft and edit research papers, briefs, knowledge products, and best-practice stories.

Content & Communications

  • Prepare communication materials such as speeches, brochures, success stories, and social media content.
  • Support development of digital content including infographics, videos, blogs, and other online materials.

Programme & Project Support

  • Assist with the design and implementation of projects and initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support as needed.

Collaboration

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to support ongoing initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

Applicants must meet one of the following at the time of application:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s programme, or
  • In the final year of a Bachelor’s programme, or
  • Recently graduated (within one year) with a degree in:
    • Islamic economics & finance
    • Economics, finance, business, development
    • International relations, law, public administration, or related fields

Experience

  • Academic or practical experience in sustainable development, Islamic finance, or impact investing
  • Knowledge of SDG financing and OIC countries is desirable
  • Experience in project design, research, or content creation is an asset
  • Social media management skills preferred

Languages

  • Strong spoken and written English is mandatory
  • Arabic or another UN language is an asset

Financial Support

Interns may receive a monthly stipend based on UNDP’s standard internship rates, unless funded externally (e.g., via scholarship or university programme).
