In a world where children often remain overlooked in investment decisions, the Innovative Finance Hub of UNICEF is charting a different course. This spring, the Hub is offering two full-time, six-month internships (26 weeks) within its “Innovative Financing” pathway — based at its Helsinki, Finland hub, with the possibility of remote work. At the heart of this internship is the principle that finance should serve children — not just through charity, but by integrating children’s rights into the fabric of sustainable investment. The Hub supports UNICEF’s Global Innovative Finance for Children (IF4C) Strategy, which mobilizes capital with measurable impact for children across the world. Children are deeply affected by health, education, and social-protection outcomes — yet capital markets rarely prioritize them. This internship places you on the front lines of changing that.
What You Will Do
- Conduct research and analysis on sustainable finance frameworks, regulations, and market trends using a “child-lens” investing approach.
- Prepare briefing materials and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders, translating child-rights principles into investor practice.
- Assist with communications, social media, and database management to support the Hub’s outreach activities.
- Collaborate across teams to gain insight into UNICEF’s broader innovative finance portfolio.
