Internship Overview

This internship sits within UNICEF’s Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP). The selected intern will support the AMI team in analyzing global media trends, mapping audience perceptions, and identifying new opportunities to strengthen UNICEF’s communication and fundraising strategies.

Key Responsibilities
Month 1 – Onboarding & Learning:
- Get introduced to UNICEF’s global structure and PFP division.
- Learn media monitoring tools such as TalkWalker.
- Develop Boolean search queries and taxonomies for data research.
- Review past landscape analyses and key deliverables.
Months 1–6 – Research & Analysis:
- Conduct media trend analyses based on specific research briefs.
- Audit existing research and identify knowledge gaps.
- Assist in preparing insights summaries, PowerPoint reports, and data dashboards.
- Help organize and maintain UNICEF’s research data and taxonomies.
Months 3–6 – Advanced Insights:
- Synthesize findings into actionable insights for communication strategies.
- Support ad-hoc data analysis and visualization projects.
- Identify recurring insights and propose improvements to analytical frameworks.
Candidate Requirements
To qualify, candidates must:
- Be enrolled in or have graduated (within the past two years) from a degree in Communications, Marketing, Data/Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have excellent English proficiency (additional languages are an asset).
- Demonstrate strong academic performance and clear writing skills.
- Have reliable internet access and experience working with collaboration tools like Teams or SharePoint.
- Show attention to detail, strong critical-thinking, and an interest in UNICEF’s research and policy work.
Preferred:
- Experience with media analytics and tools like TalkWalker.
- Familiarity with Boolean search terms and qualitative/quantitative research.
- Prior experience working in multicultural or international environments.
