MECHANICAL LIFTING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR: CAT 3 X1 (PORT OF LUDERITZ)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To operate wharf cranes by loading and offloading cargo and placing within the port area.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Conduct daily safety checks on haulage and mechanical lifting equipment.
• Operate cargo handling and operating equipment.
• Perform minor mechanical, hydraulic and electrical checks
• Assist during routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure safe operations by adherence to OHSE rules and legislations.
• Collect and provide data for capturing and planning purposes.
• Perform ad-hoc duties

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
• A valid Code CE driving license.
• Three (3) years’ relevant experience in operating heavy-duty vehicles.
• Experience in 3t, 4t, 16t and 32t forklifts will be an added advantage.
• Understanding the IMO code concerning the handling of hazardous cargo.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
• Medically fit.
• Safety, health, environment, and quality conscious.
