Uis Tin Mining Company Pty Ltd an equal opportunity employer, situated in the Erongo region, hereby invites competent & suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Exploration Assistant. The position reports to the Senior Exploration Assistant.
Key responsibilities:
• Field work involving manual labour and carrying rock samples across rugged terrain.
• Core and rock sample handling and storing according to standard operating procedures.
• Marking out diamond drill core.
• Cutting diamond drill core and sampling such for shipment to laboratory.
• Adhere to correct procedures, policies, and health/safety guidelines.
• Part take in risk assessments when performing routine tasks.
• Perform cleaning, and general housekeeping activities.
• Adhere to Quality Assurance and Quality Control Standards and Procedures as per instruction by Geologist.
• Perform any geology related task as reasonably instructed by the Geologist.
Safety, Health and Environmental
• Report accidents, incidents and near misses and perform investigations.
• Comply with SHER regulations.
• Assist with incident investigations.
• Ensure housekeeping in area of responsibility
Key requirements:
• A minimum of 20 points from Grade 10.
• On-the-job training relevant to Geological Exploration would be advantageous.
• Basic numerical and writing skills are required.
• Previous working experience within Mining environment would be advantageous.
• A valid police clearance certificate, not older than 6 months
