3. EVD Response Program Assistants – 40 positions
Location: Kampala, Uganda (local position)
Duration: 60 – 120 working days
Reports to: EVD Response Program Officer
Responsibilities:
· Support trainings for private for-profit health facilities, pharmacies, drug shops and alternative medicine practitioners to effectively screen, notify and refer potential Ebola clients for testing at GOU designated centers; and basic EVD IPC practices
· Rapid distribution of essential IPC supplies to lower level private for-profit health provider facilities within the 5 divisions of Kampala
· Capture and report consumption data of IPC commodity stocks to ensure, redistribution, and replenishment of orders
· Work closely with KCCA teams to map out private health facilities, pharmacies, and drug shops within each Division for targeted IPC support.
· Actively participate and engage private for-profit health providers on virtual follow-on CMEs on the private sector learning platforms.
Required experience and qualifications
· A basic diploma or bachelor’s degree in Medicine, nursing or midwifery. Experience in public health interventions will be an added advantage
· Minimum of 2 years of work experience in public health program implementation
· Experience and or knowledge on Uganda’s public sector and private sector health systems will be of added advantage
· Ability to work with and understand health data and health management information systems, including presentation of data in creative ways.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with health facility and division teams
