Job Summary

The global health security program at Baylor Uganda works closely with the Ministry of Health, other MDAs, District local governments, and collaborating partners to improve Health Security and Build International Health Regulations Core Capacities in prevention, detection and response to public health threats. The program seeks to engage and maintain a pool of deployable surge volunteers in various temporary assignments and locations across a range of thematic areas to enrich careers while contributing to the Global Health Security Agenda.

Overall Responsibilities

Under the overall guidance of the Emergency Preparedness and Response/BH coordinator/Pandemic Response Manager and working closely with MoH/ government of Uganda counterparts at all levels and collaborating partners, the surge volunteer will provide technical assistance to improve the management of health emergency and systems for a timely response to public health emergencies including regional EOCs, Emergency medical services and other support services.

S/he will establish/maintain collaborative networks involving local, subnational and national stakeholders and liaise with other programs and departments.

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
  • Minimum of MBChB or BSCN or any other clinical-related field. A master’s degree in a health-related field is an added advantage.
  • 2 Years Relevant Experience
