QKR Namibia Navachab Gold Mine, situated in Karibib, Namibia, seeks to appoint suitably qualified and experienced Mining Engineers to join our mining team. The role will support a safe, efficient and economically sustainable mining operations through effective mine planning, production optimisation, operational control and technical support. The successful candidate will suitably be positioned within the Mining Operations (blasting, drilling, planning, load & haul) and will work closely with Services, Geology, Engineering Departments and other key stakeholders to ensure that mining activities are executed in accordance with approved plans, standards and business objectives.Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Mining Field.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ post-graduate experience in an open pit mining environment, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
• A valid blasting ticket will be an added advantage.
• Computer Literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Powerpoint)
• Expertise knowledge in General Mining packages and Pit Optimization software
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure your participance in providing input and reviewing of mining procedures / standards that will support effective mining operations.
• Ensure that all technical processes are performed in compliance with the approved mining standards.
• Develop short-term mine plans and technical plans, and ensure their execution are in line with approved standards and business objectives. ensure compliance thereof.
• Develop and initiate continuous improvement projects, best practices and techniques that will achieve mining productivity and efficiencies.
• Ensure continuity, sustainability and delivery of set KPI’s for the Fleet Management, Drill & Blast and the Load & Haul systems.
• Analyse and compare production results and data from the fleet management system that will support operational performance and prepare relevant reports.
• Use Fleet Management applications, production reports and data analysis to proactively monitor operational performance and identify mitigating / improvement actions.
• Provide timely guidance to the department on safe mine planning and operational issues, including mining perimeter layout and activities sequencing.
• Provide input into the mining budget that will support and guide in economically sustainable decision making.
• Ensure a Zero Harm Culture across the mining operations across the mining operations by ensuring that a safe mine plan is inline with the mining activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate.
• Two (2) years’ clerical and general office administration experience, of which some should be acquired in a technical environment.
• Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration will be an advantage.
• Basic planning and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good working knowledge of MS office programs.
• Previous SAP experience will be a distinct advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Capture and maintain asset maintenance data and records.
• Compile, organize, and file asset maintenance documentation.
• Create and prepare maintenance notifications and work orders.
• Generate stock and non-stock requisitions in accordance with Navachab Finance requirements.
• Assist in compiling, maintaining, and filing maintenance manuals, drawings, and procedures.
• Assist with the compilation, tracking, and retrieval of asset maintenance KPI reports.
• Ensure compliance with Navachab’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform other administrative duties related to maintenance planning and asset management as required.

The successful candidate will provide direct leadership and operational support to the open-pit mining operation, ensuring the effective execution of the short – Medium term mining production plan. The role will focus on proactively identifying and removing operational constraints, resolving production challenges, and driving continuous improvement to ensure that production, cost, safety, and people objectives are consistently achieved. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven mining professional to take ownership of production, cost, safety and people outcomes at an established open pit gold mining operation. The position reports to the Mining Manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or an equivalent tertiary qualification in the Mining Field.
• A minimum of ten (10) years’ post-graduate experience in an open pit mining environment, including three years (3) in a managerial role.
• Computer Literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Powerpoint)
• Expertise knowledge in General Mining packages and Pit Optimization software
• Valid Blasting Ticket
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of mining legislation, including the Labour Act 11 of 2007, and safety/environmental management standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and model safe behaviour in line with the Navachab Safety Vision and Values, ensuring full compliance with the Safety, Health & Environment Management System, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Set, drive and manage production targets for drilling, blasting and excavation, ensuring consistent supply of ore to the processing plant in line with the mine plan and CPQQTR principles.
• Coordinate and manage mining contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to service agreements and safe, efficient operational delivery.
• Oversee the execution of the mining production system and plan, including mine development and management of own team’s performance.
• Develop and manage the mine budget, controlling expenditure and allocating financial resources effectively to achieve cost targets.
• Develop and implement the annual labour plan, identify training and skills development needs, and maintain sound employee relations and discipline.
• Maintain effective stakeholder relationships, benchmark best practices, and provide specialist technical advice on productivity, mining efficiencies and cost.
• Maintain robust reporting, monitoring and risk management systems, ensuring compliance with mining legislation, corporate standards and business plans.
