There are two main methods to disable Siri functionality on your AirPods. Choose the method that best suits your needs:
Method 1: Disable Siri Activation Through AirPods
- Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad
- Find and tap your AirPods name
- Look for “Press and Hold AirPods” or “Double-tap on AirPod”
- Tap on the current action (which says “Siri”)
- Select any other option besides Siri (like Noise Control)
Method 2: Completely Turn Off Siri
- Go to Settings > Siri & Search
- Toggle off these options:
- Listen for “Hey Siri”
- Press Side Button for Siri
- Allow Siri When Locked
If you want to customize specific Siri features instead of completely disabling them:
- Disable Notification Announcements:
- Settings > Notifications > Announce Notifications
- Turn off “Announce Notifications”
- Customize Which Notifications Siri Announces:
- Settings > Notifications > Announce Notifications > Messages
- Choose between “Time Sensitive and Direct Messages” or “All Notifications”
