Opportunity: Social Media and Web Communications Junior Officer
To further its digital communications ambitions, EDU seeks a creative, highly motivated, data-driven, and diligent Social Media and Web Communications Junior Officer. This role is pivotal in enhancing the directorate’s online presence, managing its social media channels and website, and developing digital campaigns that foster meaningful engagement with stakeholder communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Campaigns & Content:
- Design and implement innovative, targeted, and engaging digital campaigns.
- Identify, map, and understand stakeholder communities to deliver tailored communications.
- Create and publish audience-optimized graphics, messaging, data visualizations, videos, and animations.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, adjusting strategies for optimal results.
- Advice, Knowledge Sharing & Training:
- Collaborate with communication colleagues across the OECD for unified, high-quality messaging.
- Share best practices and contribute to OECD social media governance.
- Stay ahead of social media trends and advise colleagues on effective strategies.
- Web Management:
- Maintain editorial quality and consistency of EDU web pages, maximizing visibility and discoverability.
- Optimize content for SEO and user experience, making technical information accessible and engaging.
- Oversee web functionality and performance, and report on analytics and user insights.
The Junior Officer will report to the Senior Content Manager for the Directorate for Education and Skills.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic Background:
- University degree in business, political sciences, international relations, communications, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
- At least two years in a communications role, ideally in an international or business organization.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills for digital audiences.
- Proficient in content creation for X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement, segmentation, and targeted messaging.
- Skilled in producing graphics, photos, short videos, and animations.
- Competent in website maintenance, SEO, and analytics.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, web content management (Adobe Experience Manager), and dataviz tools (e.g., Flourish, R-Shiny).
Core Competencies:
- Vision and Strategy, Enable People, Ethics and Integrity, Collaboration and Horizontality, Achieve Results, Innovate and Embrace Change (OECD Level 1 or 2 as applicable).
Languages:
- Excellent written English and good knowledge of French; other languages are an asset.
