JOB TITLE: SALES OFFICER

JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this job is to assist in marketing of Company products, solicit business for the Company, day to day running of the office, publicity and sensitization / creating awareness about Insurance in general / products offered by SWICO and Insurance benefits to the public.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Soliciting for business / prospecting
(i) Participate in soliciting for business and promoting the Company.
(ii) Participate in aggressive marketing of company products in Masaka region.
(iii)Sensitize and create awareness to clients about the Company products and also handle
their queries.
(iv)Compute premium payable by clients.
(v) Promote company image.
(vi)Educate the clients / public about company products.
(vii) Follow up on clients for new businesses both general business opportunities and third party sticker sale.
(viii) Exercise the highest customer care and ensure good reception to all clients who visit our office.
(ix)Issue Motor Third Party stickers to clients in accordance with the Regulator’s guidelines and company procedures whenever assigned.
(x) Accept renewal endorsements on behalf of the Company.
2. Assist the supervisor in administering the Branch
(i) Collect office supplies from Head Office whenever delegated by your Supervisor,
(ii) Oversee the general cleanliness and set up for the office.
(iii)Report to your supervisor on any issues that may require management attention.
3. Enter data in the system
(i) Enter the third party data on a daily basis into the system.
(ii) Prepare reports / returns mid and end of months in accordance with company procedures.
(iii) Prepare daily, weekly and monthly returns
4. Receive and bank premium collected
(i) Receive premium from clients
(ii) Issue receipts for all cash / premium received from clients.
(iii)Bank the money on daily basis as provided in the Company policy
(iv) Make accountability of all money received.
5. Distribution of policy documents
(i) Distribution of renewal notices.
(ii) Build relationship with clients
(iii)Participate in preparation and maintenance of policy files.
6. Record Keeping
(i) Complete the IRA register for the Motor Third Party, the Auditor’s register and record
the details of new and existing customers.
(ii) Maintain a record of client’s contacts.
(iii)Work with the Officer in charge and staff at head office whenever need arises to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in day to day office operations.
(iv)Participate in inspection of subject matters of Insurance when delegated.
Job Specifications and skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Marketing, Management, Social Science, Arts or business filed.
Professional qualification in Insurance, Marketing or Sales.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the general insurance industry or service marketing.
Knowledge general insurance products
Knowledge of insurance product selling
Strong sales skills
Excellent interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity
