Applications are open for financial support to attend COP30 in Belém, Brazil. This opportunity is designed for individuals from low- and middle-income countries with a strong interest in climate and mental health. One person will be selected to receive support covering travel, accommodation, and subsistence for up to £3,000, enabling them to participate in crucial global discussions on climate and mental health at COP30. Applicants must already have or be assured of a Blue Zone pass and be prepared to contribute through communications work such as short blogs or video pieces

Program Benefits
The selected participant will receive financial support covering travel, accommodation, and subsistence costs up to a maximum of £3,000. This funding ensures meaningful participation at COP30 without the burden of personal expense.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be from or residing in a low- and middle-income country (see list here: https://wellcome.org/research-funding/guidance/prepare-to-apply/low-and-middle-income-countries)
- Have expertise in climate and mental health and/or would feel confident discussing climate and mental health topics at COP30 (e.g., on a side event)
- Already have or have received assurance of receiving a pass to enter the Blue Zone at COP30
- Be available to do some communications work while at COP30 (e.g., a piece to camera or a short blog for United for Global Mental Health)
- Be able to navigate COP spaces independently (we do not have internal capacity to provide this type of support)
- Be available for coordination meetings with United for Global Mental Health (e.g., once every 2 weeks) in the lead-up to COP30
