CARGO OPERATIONS ASSISTANT X5 (PORT OF LUDERITZ)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To perform all general work duties pertaining to cargo handling services and operations.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Execute general cargo handling operational support duties.
• Perform safe and timeous loading and offloading of cargo and storage handling support.
• Keep assigned materials, tools and equipment safe.
• Maintain cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of the work environment.
• Adhere to safety, health and quality standards.
• Perform ad-hoc duties

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Six (6) months’ relevant experience in port/terminal operations cargo handling activities.
• Basic cargo handling knowledge and safety awareness.
• Strong physical ability to handle cargo and cargo handling equipment accessories.
• Sound communication and team relations.
• Strong time management and adherence to achieving set operational efficiency targets.
• Medically and physically fit.
• Safety, health, environment and quality conscious.
• A valid code B/BE driving license will be an added advantage.
