Job Advert Summary
QKR Namibia Navachab Gold Mine, situated in Karibib, Namibia, seeks to appoint suitably qualified and experienced Mining Engineers to join our mining team. The role will support a safe, efficient and economically sustainable mining operations through effective mine planning, production optimisation, operational control and technical support. The successful candidate will suitably be positioned within the Mining Operations (blasting, drilling, planning, load & haul) and will work closely with Services, Geology, Engineering Departments and other key stakeholders to ensure that mining activities are executed in accordance with approved plans, standards and business objectives.Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Mining Field.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ post-graduate experience in an open pit mining environment, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
- A valid blasting ticket will be an added advantage.
- Computer Literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Powerpoint)
- Expertise knowledge in General Mining packages and Pit Optimization software
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure your participance in providing input and reviewing of mining procedures / standards that will support effective mining operations.
- Ensure that all technical processes are performed in compliance with the approved mining standards.
- Develop short-term mine plans and technical plans, and ensure their execution are in line with approved standards and business objectives. ensure compliance thereof.
- Develop and initiate continuous improvement projects, best practices and techniques that will achieve mining productivity and efficiencies.
- Ensure continuity, sustainability and delivery of set KPI’s for the Fleet Management, Drill & Blast and the Load & Haul systems.
- Analyse and compare production results and data from the fleet management system that will support operational performance and prepare relevant reports.
- Use Fleet Management applications, production reports and data analysis to proactively monitor operational performance and identify mitigating / improvement actions.
- Provide timely guidance to the department on safe mine planning and operational issues, including mining perimeter layout and activities sequencing.
- Provide input into the mining budget that will support and guide in economically sustainable decision making.
- Ensure a Zero Harm Culture across the mining operations across the mining operations by ensuring that a safe mine plan is inline with the mining activities.
