Job Purpose
A vacancy exists for Accountant: Cost and Production within the Finance Department, reporting to the
Specialist Management Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination,
consolidation, financial modelling, and analysis of business results for plans and forecasts, as well as monthly
actual results for the purpose of reporting to the senior management team. A key aspect of the role is providing
invaluable business partnering support, particularly in variance and financial analysis, ensuring that insights
drive informed decision making.

- Working constructively with other functions or departments
- Ensuring that plans and forecasts are done on time and in accordance with CNUC guidelines and latest value plans and is complete and accurate.
- Maintaining integrity of financial information to ensure integrity of the SAP CO-modules, this has a direct impact on the integrity of cost information available to the users and works with CNUC controllers to ensure that all general ledger accounts are appropriately maintained.
- Ensuring the standards and timeliness of reporting requirements. This is to ensure that area management accounts are submitted on time to avoid delays to the month end process and reporting to CNUC and Senior Management.
- Monitoring and analysing operating/financial performance. To provide critical analysis of variances against plan and forecast on a monthly, quarterly, half year and annual basis to identify opportunities to increase business value.
- Sufficiently understand the business unit’s operating processes, metal inventory flows, revenue streams, and cost flows.
- Applying financial modelling and business intelligence tools (Power BI) to provide meaningful information to aid management/business partners decision making.
- Initiating cost saving ideas aimed at reducing overall area, and mine costs.
- Continuously evaluate projects to optimise cost efficiency.
- A recognized 4 year’s B. Com Degree in Accounting. NQF Level 7/8, with a minimum of five (5) years post qualification working experience in a costing environment is essential.
- A recognized 3 year’s National Diploma in Accounting NQF Level 6 with A minimum of seven (7) years post-qualification working experience in a costing environment is essential.
- Valid Code B Driver’s License
- CIMA / CA.
- Experience in the application of financial modelling and business intelligence tools (power BI).
- Experience in mining
environment

- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in accounting, finance analysis and planning.
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced financial modeling techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint/Excel), SAP and Power BI.
